Monginis

Our shop is located in Goregaon East, right along the 1st D Main in the RPC Layout area near East Chord Road D/5. It’s a quiet enough street most of the time, though it picks up in the evenings when everyone gets off work. This Monginis isn't very large, but we pack a lot into the shelves. We spend a lot of time folding cardboard boxes so they are ready when someone needs a cake in a hurry. The floor tiles are a little worn down near the entrance because so many people have stepped there over the years. We see a lot of people coming in for birthday stuff, usually looking a bit stressed because they forgot a candle or a knife at the last minute. We keep those things tucked under the counter just in case. The staff here mostly lives nearby, so we walk to work every morning. It’s nice because we know the people who live in the apartments upstairs and they stop by to chat. Sometimes the fridge hums a little louder than it should, but it keeps everything cold and fresh. We don’t have fancy uniforms, just some aprons that we wash at home. It’s just a regular shop where we try to be helpful. We keep a calendar behind the counter to track the big orders, and it’s usually covered in blue scribbles. It’s a simple way of living.
