Mohammad Nadir Auto Parts is located at Shop No 35 in Kismat Nagar, right on the busy CST Road in Kurla West. This shop is usually a hive of activity from early morning. Kurla is famous for auto parts, and we are right in the thick of that market. The shop is packed from the floor all the way to the ceiling with engine parts, lights, and all sorts of cables. It is hard to move around sometimes without bumping into a pile of something. We have grease on our hands most days and that is just part of the work. Customers come in looking for parts for very old cars that aren't even made anymore. We actually enjoy the challenge of trying to find them in our piles. The street outside is always full of mechanics and bikes and people shouting. It is loud and very dusty, but there is a certain energy to this place. We don't have a computer system to track every single nut and bolt; we just know where things are by heart. My father started this business and we have kept it going in much the same way. We sit on small wooden benches and drink tea with the regular customers who stop by. It isn't a polished showroom with bright lights. It is a real working shop where things get done. Sometimes we stay late to help someone whose vehicle is stuck nearby.
