Modern Traders

We are Modern Traders, located at 153 Narayan Dhuru Street. We are right next to Nagdevi Street in the Masjid area. If you’ve been here, you know how narrow the lanes are. It’s always packed with people and carts moving goods. Our place is packed with stock from floor to ceiling. We’ve been here for years, just like many of our neighbors. It’s a loud place with lots of shouting and horns, but that’s the spirit of the market. We mostly deal with hardware and tools. Our staff has been with us for a long time. We eat lunch together in the back of the shop. We don’t have a fancy reception desk. You just walk in and tell us what you’re looking for. We try to keep things organized but sometimes things get buried under other things. It’s a bit of a maze. We don’t do much advertising because word of mouth is usually enough around here. We know the other shopkeepers and we help each other out sometimes. The building is old and the stairs are steep. We spend our days checking invoices and making sure the crates are moved correctly. It’s hard work and the heat in the summer is no joke. But we stay open and we keep at it. It’s just a normal trading life in a very old part of the city. We aren't looking to expand into some giant company, we just like our spot here.
