Modern Auto Products

Down at Grant Road 4-B, that's where you'll find Modern Auto Products. It’s a bit of a tight spot with all the noise and traffic, but we’ve managed to stay put here for quite some time now. The shop is filled with various car parts, some old tools, and bits of metal we haven't sorted yet. It smells like oil and rubber most of the time, which I guess is normal for an auto place like ours. We aren't trying to be the biggest shop in Mumbai, just a place where folks can get what they need for their vehicles without too much fuss or waiting. I spend most of my morning sorting through the inventory and marking things down. Some days it’s quiet and I can get a lot done, other days every mechanic in the area seems to show up at once asking for things we just sold. We keep the main tools in the back room. My cousin helps out when things get really hectic during the festive seasons. We don't have any fancy chairs for waiting, just a stool or two near the counter if someone needs a rest. It's a very practical setup. We’ve seen the neighborhood change a lot over the years, but the demand for spare parts stays pretty constant. We just keep our heads down and do the work. If we don’t have a specific part, we try to find out where it might be.
