Our place is tucked into the TTC Industrial Area on the Thane-Belapur Road. If you know where the Fire Emergency Response Station is, then you are basically at Mitsuboshi Belting India Pvt Ltd. We are at W 191F, and the traffic on the main road is almost always a bit of a mess, but inside the gates, it is a different world. We spend a lot of time looking at rubber and fabric. Making belts for machinery isn't something people think about often, but it is what keeps us busy from Monday to Saturday. The smell of the raw materials is quite strong when you first walk in, but you stop noticing it after ten minutes. We have the fire station so close that we occasionally hear their sirens testing, which reminds us to keep our own safety checks up to date. The workshop floor is organized into rows of machinery, and there is always a low-frequency vibration under your boots. We aren't trying to impress anyone with a shiny facade. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but the machines are well-oiled and that is what actually matters for what we do. The staff mostly comes in from the nearby areas like Kopar Khairane. We share tea during the breaks and talk about the cricket scores or the commute. It is a regular workplace for regular people who know how to handle industrial belting without making a big fuss about it.
