Minar Packing

We are over at 780, Akbar Suleman Compound on S. M. D. Road. It’s right in the Antop Hill area of Wadala East. Minar Packing is basically a warehouse with some machinery for wrapping and boxing things up. It’s a noisy place because of the tape dispensers and the forklifts. We have piles of cardboard boxes everywhere you look. The compound is always busy with trucks coming in and out. It’s dusty and the air smells like recycled paper. We aren't a big corporation with uniforms. Most of us just wear old clothes that we don't mind getting dirty. We spend our days measuring and cutting and taping. Sometimes we stay late to finish a big order for a client who needs it by morning. The fans on the ceiling don’t do much when it’s really hot, but we keep going anyway. We’ve been in Wadala for a long time. People around here know us as the place that always has extra bubble wrap. We don't do any advertising. The work comes from word of mouth usually. It’s a straightforward job. We pack things so they don't break. That’s about it. There’s a small cabin in the corner where we keep the records. It’s not much to look at, but it’s where we spend our lives. We just keep our heads down and get the boxes out the door. It's a lot of physical work, but it pays the bills.
