Working in Kalbadevi means being right in the heart of Mumbai’s old trading soul. Midsolo Impex Private Limited is on the third floor of the Mantri Building at number 74. We are on Shaikhmemon Street, specifically in Champa Gully. If you’ve ever walked through M.J. Market, you know how tight the lanes are and how many people are carrying bundles of cloth on their shoulders. It’s a chaotic place, but there’s a real energy to it that you don’t find anywhere else. Our office is small and packed with ledgers and samples. We have to climb three flights of stairs to get here, which keeps us fit since there’s no lift in this old building. We spend most of our time talking to traders and managing shipments. The walls are a bit yellowed and the fans make a bit of noise, but it’s a comfortable place for us. We’ve been part of this market community for a while, and we know most of the other shopkeepers on our floor. We don't have a website or a fancy logo; we just rely on the work we do every day. Sometimes we have our lunch brought in from a local mess, and we eat while we talk about the market prices. It’s a traditional way of doing business, based on handshakes and long-term relationships. It’s messy and loud, but it’s exactly where we want to be.
