Micro Jewels

Micro Jewels is tucked away at 6, Mohd. Amin Chawl, right behind Sagar Park in the Gamdevi area of Amrut Nagar. It is in Ghatkopar West, so it is quite a lively part of the city to be in. The walk from the station can be a bit long when the sun is out, but you get used to the pace of the neighborhood after a while. The chawl itself is always full of life, with neighbors talking and kids playing nearby. Our space isn't very big, so we have to be smart about how we use every inch of it. We have some benches and tools set up where the main work happens. It can get a little cramped when more than two people are trying to move around at once. There is always a faint smell of metal or cleaning supplies in the air, which is just part of the job. We don't have fancy signs or a big glass front. Most people find us by asking someone at the corner or just knowing the area well enough to spot the door. The fan on the ceiling wobbles a bit, but it does its job of keeping the air moving during those humid Mumbai afternoons. We usually have the radio playing low in the background to keep things from being too quiet while we work. It is a humble place, but it serves us well for what we do every day. We finish up in the evening and lock the small gate before heading home.
