You can find us at 146/B.C.D in the government industrial estate over in Kandivali West, specifically the Charkop area. It’s a sprawling place with lots of other workshops around us. The heat from the presses can get pretty intense during the middle of the day, so we keep the big doors open to catch whatever breeze we can. The floor is always covered in small bits of metal scrap, and the sound of the machines is constant from morning until we lock up. It’s not the kind of place where you’d want to wear nice clothes. We spend our time checking the settings on the machines and making sure the metal is being pressed exactly the way it should be. We’ve got a small area for files and a telephone that rings more than we’d like sometimes. Most of the people working here have been living in the area for years, so we’re all pretty familiar with each other. We don't use a lot of big words or try to impress anyone. We just take the raw material and turn it into the parts that people asked for. Sometimes things break down and we have to spend half the day fixing a machine, which is frustrating, but we just deal with it. It’s just a regular industrial shop doing its thing, day in and day out, without any unnecessary complications or drama.
