Metal Arcade

People ask us about the name sometimes but we’ve been here at Manek Building on Pathe Bapurao Marg for a while now. It gets noisy on Grant Road especially in the afternoons when everyone is out and about. We deal with metal things mostly. The shop isn't very big but we make do with the space we have in unit 1/10 and 11. Most days you’ll find us sorting through inventory or talking to people who drop by from the neighborhood. It’s a busy part of town and there is always something happening outside the door. We don't have fancy office chairs or air conditioning that works all the time. It’s just a regular workplace where we get things done. Some of the machines are old but they still run fine if you treat them right. We start early in the morning before the traffic gets too bad. By the time evening comes around the street lights are on and we are usually packing up to head home. It’s been this way for years and we know the other shop owners around here pretty well. Sometimes we share tea if it’s a slow day. You get used to the sounds of the city after a while. Metal is what we know best so we just stick to that. It is hard work and your hands get dirty but that is just how it goes here.
