Meritt Transmissions

We are tucked away at 157/159 on Narayan Dhuru Street, which is just behind Nagdevi Street. It’s a very busy part of the city with narrow lanes and lots of delivery carts moving around. Meritt Transmissions has been here for years. The shop is small and filled with parts like belts, chains, and pulleys. It’s hard to keep it organized because there are so many different sizes and types of items. Often, we have to climb up a ladder to find a specific part that someone is looking for. The air smells like rubber and oil. We don’t have a website or anything like that; people usually just find us by walking through the market or because someone told them we have what they need. It’s loud outside with all the horns and people shouting, but inside we just focus on the parts. We take our time to make sure we give the right item to the person asking. Sometimes we have to look through old catalogs to find a match for a very old machine. It’s a bit of a struggle sometimes to get through the day with all the chaos of the market, but we like it here. It’s our small corner of the world. We just keep supplying the parts and helping people keep their machines running. We don't make it complicated. If we have the part, it's yours. That’s how we do it every day. It works for us. It’s just how things are on this street.
