Mehta Plastics Industries

Our place is inside the old Bombay Talkies compound in Malad. It’s an interesting spot with a lot of history, though these days it’s mostly just small businesses like ours. Mehta Plastics Industries occupies unit 231-I. It’s not the easiest place to find if you’ve never been here before, but once you’re inside the compound, you just look for the noise of the grinders. We spend most of our time working with various plastic molds and seeing what comes out. The lighting in the back isn't the best, so we mostly work near the front where the big door is. It gets dusty, but that’s expected with this kind of work. We have a small table where we keep the logs and take our lunch breaks. Usually, it’s just tea and some snacks from the vendor outside the gate. We’ve been here long enough that we know all the other owners in the compound. We help each other out if someone needs a tool or a spare hand. It’s a decent way to earn a living. We don't have a big corporate office or a sales team. If the phone rings, one of us just wipes our hands and picks it up. We try to keep things simple and avoid any unnecessary drama. It’s just us, the machines, and the plastic. That’s how we like it. The compound has a lot of character, even if it's a bit run down.
