Mazgaon Dock Limited

We are over in Abhyudaya Nagar, right at building twenty-three. It’s a busy part of Mumbai, and we’ve been operating from flat 1629 for a while now. The dock work keeps everyone on their toes. Usually, the day starts pretty early when the sun is just coming up over the city. You’ll find some of us sitting with stacks of papers while others are out making sure things are moving where they need to go. It’s not a fancy setup, just a regular office where we get things done. Some people ask why we are in a residential-looking block, but it works for us and keeps us close to the local pulse. There’s always noise from the street below and the smell of tea from the corner stall. We don’t really do big speeches or fancy meetings here. It’s mostly just making sure the logistics for the dock side of things stay on track. Sometimes the lifts are slow, so we take the stairs, which is a bit of a workout. We’ve got a few desks, some old filing cabinets, and a lot of phone calls to handle throughout the afternoon. It gets pretty warm in the summers, but we have the fans going. It is just honest work, really. Nothing more to it than showing up and making sure the day’s tasks are finished before we head home to our families in the evening. It’s a living, and we just keep at it.
