Mazda Imagine Pvt Ltd is tucked away in the VK Industrial Estate over in Mahalaxmi. We are at number 10 on Pais Street, which is off K Kahde Marg. Being in an industrial estate means things are always moving. You hear the sounds of trucks idling and the clanking of machinery from the other units nearby. It isn't the quietest place to work, but it feels productive. Our space is functional. We have high ceilings and a lot of floor space for whatever we are working on at the moment. The walls are concrete and we have heavy doors that keep the worst of the noise out. We don’t have a fancy lobby with a water feature or expensive art. Usually, there’s just a stack of pallets near the entrance and maybe a few bikes parked outside. The air always has a bit of that metallic, industrial smell to it, which you just stop noticing after the first hour of being here. We mostly keep to ourselves and get the work done. When the sun goes down, the estate gets a bit quieter, but there are always a few people still around. We have a small kettle in the corner for making tea, and that’s about as fancy as it gets. It’s a place for hard work without any of the extra polish that you find in office parks. We just do our thing and get on with it.
