Mayur Mechanical Works

Mayur Mechanical Works is located at Plot No 10 in the Desh Udyog Mandir on Caves Road. We are right behind the Bank of Baroda in Jogeshwari (East), which is a very crowded and busy part of town. The workshop is usually a bit dark and smells of grease, oil, and cold metal. We have several old lathes and milling machines that have been with us for a long time and still work well. It’s a small space, so we have to be careful where we step because there are often metal shavings on the floor or heavy parts waiting for repair on the benches. Most of our work involves fixing mechanical components or making small custom parts for other businesses in the neighborhood. The noise from the trains and the street traffic is always there in the background, making it hard to hear sometimes. We don't have a receptionist or a fancy lobby; if you come to see us, you’ll likely find us at a machine with our sleeves rolled up and dirt on our hands. It’s the kind of place where things get messy, but the work gets done correctly without any fuss. Sometimes we struggle to find a specific tool because the workbenches get so cluttered when we are busy, but we eventually get everything sorted out. The neighbors are all similar small workshops, so there’s a sense of being in a community of people who actually make things with their hands.
