Matoshri Urban Nidhi Limited

Matoshri Urban Nidhi Limited is based in the Fort area of Mumbai, which is full of old, beautiful buildings. We are on the second floor of Gool Mansion, located at 6 Homji Street. It’s right near Horniman Circle, so there is a lot of history all around us. The building is quite old, with high ceilings and those big windows that let in some of the Mumbai breeze, though it still gets stuffy. You have to walk up the stairs to find us, but once you’re here, it’s a quiet break from the noise of the Fort streets. We deal with people from all over the city who work in the offices nearby. The office itself is full of old wooden furniture that has been around for years. We handle the Nidhi business day in and day out, recording everything in our books and on the computer. It’s a lot of sitting and talking, really. We see the lawyers and office workers walking past Horniman Circle every lunch hour. Sometimes we go down there ourselves to sit for a few minutes. Working in South Mumbai feels different than the suburbs; it’s more formal but we still keep our office very relaxed. We aren't a big institution, just a group of people working out of an old mansion to manage the funds of our members. It’s simple work done in a very old part of town.
