Maruti Film Equipment

We operate out of Flat Number 103 in the C-1 building in Goregaon West. Being in Goregaon, we are right in the heart of where a lot of the film stuff happens. Our place is basically a storage room that we also use as an office. We have lights, stands, and all sorts of camera gear stacked against the walls. It’s a bit of a maze sometimes when we get a big return from a shoot. We aren't a big rental house with a loading dock, so we have to carry things up and down, which keeps us fit I guess. People usually call us first and then come over to the flat to pick up what they need for their production. It’s a very casual atmosphere. We might be checking a lens while having a cup of tea on the small balcony. We started this because we’ve been around film sets for a long time and realized we could provide gear to the smaller crews who don't want to deal with the big companies. The neighbors don't seem to mind the occasional equipment cases in the hallway. It’s just a regular flat where we do our best to keep the gear clean and ready for the next call. Sometimes the lobby gets a bit crowded with boxes, but we try to move them quickly. It's a practical way to run a film equipment business without the high costs of a warehouse.
