Maria Decor

Maria Decor is tucked away at 23 D in the Petit Compound on Grant Road. We’re in the Velankar Nagar area. The compound has a lot of different small businesses, and we’re one of them. We focus on decor stuff, mostly things for houses and small offices. It’s a bit of a squeeze in here sometimes because we have fabric samples, rolls of wallpaper, and various bits of hardware scattered around. We started out just helping friends fix up their places, and it slowly turned into Maria Decor. We aren't some high-end interior design firm with a fancy portfolio. We’re just people who like making rooms look a bit better. Grant Road is a busy part of town, but once you step into Petit Compound, it gets a little quieter. We spend a lot of time talking to suppliers and trying to find things that don't cost too much but still look decent. The walls of our workspace are covered in sketches and color swatches. It’s a bit chaotic, but we find what we need. We don't have a receptionist; if you call or walk in, you’re talking to the people who do the actual decorating. We’ve lived around Velankar Nagar for years, so we know the local style and what people usually want. It’s practical, hands-on work. We just take one project at a time and try to get the job done right. It's been a few years now and we're still at it every day.
