Our shop is located in Block No-B-8 of the Girgaum Terraces building, specifically Building Number 45. We are right on Dr. D.D. Sathe Road, which is quite a narrow and busy street if you’ve ever been down this way. Being near the Girgaum Church makes it easy for people to find us, which is good because the building itself has a lot of different units. We deal in auto parts. The shelves are packed with everything from tiny screws to larger engine components. It’s a bit dark inside the shop because the building is old and the windows are small. We use a lot of tube lights to see what we are doing. There is always a faint smell of rubber and motor oil in the air. We spend a lot of our day climbing up ladders to reach things on the top shelves. It’s not a very organized place, but we usually know where everything is tucked away. The floor is concrete and has a few cracks in it from years of heavy boxes being dropped. We don’t have a computer system that’s very modern, so we still do a lot of things by hand and with old notebooks. Customers come in looking for parts for their cars or bikes, and we just help them find what they need. It’s a steady kind of life here in Girgaum.
