If you are driving down S.V. Road in Malad West, you might pass J.D. House. We are on the first floor in suite 106. This part of Mumbai is always humming with people looking for food and supplies. At Mamta Agro Foods, we are right in the middle of it. Our office usually smells a bit like the various products we handle. It is a busy environment. Phones ringing, people checking inventory, and trucks trying to find a place to park on the busy street outside. We handle a lot of the back-end stuff for the food business. It is not glamorous. There is a lot of checking dates and weights and making sure the quality is what it should be. We have a small desk for everyone and a tiny pantry where we make tea. We have been in Malad for quite some time now. Most of us live nearby, so we know the local market well. We don't try to be anything we are not. We are just people working with food supplies and making sure things get to where they need to go. It is a lot of paperwork and a lot of talking to suppliers. Every day is a bit different depending on what is in season or what is running low. We just keep at it and hope the traffic isn't too bad for the delivery boys.
