Designer Lights

You can find us over at Rcc- 12 in the Old Sonal Industrial Estate. Kanchpada in Malad West is a bit of a maze if you aren't used to it. The industrial estate has been here for years and you can tell by the walls. It is not the most glamorous spot for a shop like Designer Lights, but it works for us. We have all sorts of fixtures and bulbs tucked away in various corners. Sometimes it feels like we are running out of space because of all the boxes. People come in looking for something specific to brighten up their homes and we do what we can to find it in the inventory. It gets quite dusty around here, so we spend a lot of time wiping things down. Malad is always moving fast and we are just one part of that. The building is older, and the stairs can be a bit of a climb if you are carrying heavy stuff. We don't have a big receptionist or a waiting area. Most people just walk right into the middle of where we are working. It’s a bit messy sometimes, with wires or catalogues spread out on the main table. We drink a lot of tea and talk to the other guys in the estate. It’s a community of sorts. We just keep our heads down and keep the lights on for the neighborhood. It is a practical life.
