Our shop is number four in the 'A' wing of the Ankur Building, right near Liberty Garden on Cross Road Number 3. Ghaziabad can get incredibly dusty, and we are constantly wiping down the machines to keep the ink from getting ruined. It is a small space, so when the big printers are running, it gets quite loud and the floor vibrates a bit under your feet. We have stacks of paper everywhere—different weights, colors, and sizes—and there is always that sharp smell of chemicals and fresh ink in the air. People from the neighborhood pop in all the time for small jobs, or just to ask directions since we are near the garden. The lighting isn't the best in the back of the shop, so we use a couple of desk lamps to see what we are doing when we’re checking the alignment on a job. Outside the shop, the road is usually busy with people going towards the park, and there’s a guy who sells snacks right at the corner. We’ve been in this building for some time now, and we know all the other shop owners on the ground floor. It’s a simple setup with a counter in the front and the equipment shoved into the back. Sometimes the power cuts out in the afternoon, which is a pain for the print runs, but we just sit on the stools outside and wait for it to come back on while we chat.
