Jaico Electro Works

You can find Jaico Electro Works in the Panch Rathna building, which is near Atlanta Manor in Malad East. We are right opposite Patel Aluminium and that big Reliance office. It is a busy part of the city, sitting just off the Western Express Highway. The noise from the traffic never really stops; it is like a constant hum in the background of everything we do. We do a lot of electrical work in this shop. The space is a bit cramped because we have parts and tools everywhere, but we know where most things are kept. Sometimes we have to move three things just to get to one tool. It is just the way it is in Mumbai when space is tight. We see a lot of people coming in from the highway looking for quick repairs. We spend our time at the workbenches with our heads down, focusing on wires and circuits. It can get pretty stuffy inside when the fans are just moving warm air around during the summer. We usually go out to the local stalls for a tea break when we need a rest from the soldering iron. It is a simple operation. We are not trying to be anything other than a workshop that gets things running again for people. The Western Express Highway is right there, so we always know when it is rush hour because the honking gets even louder than usual.
