Transfer Joint

Our shop is located in the Makharia Compound in Nairwadi. It’s on Kherani Road, which anyone in Sakinaka will tell you is a very crowded place to be. We are near the Maheshwar Mandir, so you can usually hear the bells or the music from there during the day. The compound itself is a bit old and the driveway is quite narrow. We work out of Unit Number 3. It’s a small space, but we’ve managed to fit all our tools and supplies inside. It gets quite cramped when more than three people are working at once. We handle joints and parts that people need for various repairs. It’s not glamorous work. Most of the time we are covered in grease or dust. Sakinaka is always full of traffic, so getting deliveries in or out is always a challenge. We have to plan our day around the rush hour. We don’t have a fancy office or a cooling system, just a few fans that move the air around. People stop by because they know we’re here and we’ve been here for a while. It’s just a regular local business. We don't have a mission statement or anything like that. We just show up, do the work, and go home to our families. The Mandir nearby gives us a bit of peace in a very busy neighborhood, and we try to keep things simple and practical.
