Bhindi Bazar is a place with a lot of history, and we are right in the middle of it on Ebrahim Rehamatullah Road. Our numbers are 146 and 148. It’s an old building, the kind where the walls have seen a lot of changes over the decades. We’ve been Mahomedally Noorbhai & Co. for a long time now. The street outside is always humming with people, carts, and motorcycles. It’s loud and a bit chaotic, but that’s just the way it is here. Inside, we have our ledgers and our stock. It’s a traditional way of doing business. We don’t have fancy computers everywhere or a minimalist office design. It’s crowded with files and items we’ve been trading for years. We know our customers well; some of them have been coming to us since their fathers were running things. We sit and talk, maybe have some tea, and then get down to the business at hand. It’s not about being fast or flashy. It’s about being consistent. The wooden stairs creak when you walk up them, and there’s always a breeze coming through the old windows. We like the rhythm of the bazar. It’s a community as much as it is a place of work. We just do our part and keep the doors open for whoever needs us. It gets hot in the summer, but we just keep the fans going and carry on. The bustle of Ebrahim Rehamatullah Road is just normal life.
