Mahavir Injmould

We are located at Gala No 101 in the K K Gupta Estate, right over in Mulund West. It is pretty easy to find since we are near the old Jawahar Theatre landmark. Mahavir Injmould is mostly about the injection molding machines. They are big, heavy, and they put off a lot of heat, which makes the gala pretty warm even in the winter. We spend most of our time standing on the concrete floor, watching the cycles and making sure the plastic is flowing right into the molds. There is always a bin of rejected parts somewhere that we have to go through and see what went wrong with the settings. The estate itself is always busy with other small workshops, so there is a lot of shouting and the sound of tempos backing up throughout the day. We don’t have a big marketing department or anything; it’s just a few of us making sure the production stays on track. Maintenance is a big part of the job because if one machine goes down, the whole day is messed up. We usually grab lunch from the local guys who come around with tiffin boxes. It’s a lot of manual work, checking pressures and temperatures, and sometimes your hands get pretty greasy from the hydraulic fluid. We just focus on getting the orders out and keeping the machines running until it's time to lock up the shutter.
