Maharashtra Small Scale Industries Dev. Corpn. Ltd.

Our office is located in the Krupanidhi building at 9 Walchand Hirachand Marg in Ballard Estate. It’s a very old and solid building, typical for this part of Mumbai. We’ve been here for many years, working as part of the Maharashtra Small Scale Industries Development Corporation. The ceilings are high and the hallways are long, which gives it a bit of an old-fashioned feel. Outside, the streets of Ballard Estate are usually busy with people heading to the docks or other offices nearby. We have a lot of desks and filing cabinets filled with papers from all over the state. It’s a lot of administrative work, keeping track of various small businesses and their needs. We don't have the flashiness of the new corporate towers in the suburbs. It’s more of a functional space where we drink a lot of tea and go through our daily tasks. The elevator is a bit slow sometimes, so many of us just take the stairs. We deal with a lot of different people every day. It’s not always exciting, but it’s important work for the small shops and factories we assist. We keep regular hours and try to stay on top of the paperwork, even when it piles up. It’s a steady place to work, surrounded by the history of the city. We don't change much around here, which I think people appreciate when they visit.
