Maersk Shipping

Maersk Shipping is located over in the Parel/Bhoiwada area of Mumbai, specifically at Sadakant Dhavan Seva Sangh on S.T.G.B Marg. If you know Mumbai, you know this area is old and has a lot of history. Our office is in a building that’s seen a lot of years go by. It’s right in the middle of the city’s busy life. We deal with shipping, so we are always thinking about the docks and the sea even though we are sitting in a cramped office. The noise from the street is constant. During the monsoon, the walls get a bit damp and we have to watch where we put the files. We don’t have a big fancy lobby with a receptionist. You just walk in and see us working. The team is a mix of people who have lived in Mumbai all their lives. We handle a lot of paperwork and digital logs for the ships. It can be stressful when there’s a delay at the port, but we just find a way to handle it. We take our breaks at the local stalls nearby. It’s a very grounded way of working. We don't use corporate jargon or have long meetings about missions. We just check the schedules and make sure the cargo is moving. It’s a busy, sometimes chaotic place, but that’s just how Mumbai is. We just keep our heads down and do the work and try to stay on top of the container movements every single day without failing.
