M M K Tyres is located right by the flyover in Kurla West on L H Road. It’s at A 20/21. It’s a noisy spot because of all the cars and trucks going over the bridge all day. We have tires stacked up against the walls and sometimes out on the pavement if we’re really busy. The air always smells like rubber and grease. We spend most of our time out front working on wheels. Our hands are usually dirty by ten in the morning. It’s a practical kind of job. We see all sorts of vehicles, from small scooters to big lorries that barely fit in the lane. We’ve been here for years. The floor is stained with oil and the tools are old but they work fine for what we need. We don’t have a fancy waiting room with air conditioning. Usually, customers just stand around and chat while we finish the work. Kurla is always moving and we’re right in the middle of it. Sometimes it gets overwhelming with the heat and the sound of horns. We have a small desk inside for the accounts but mostly we’re on our feet. We don’t do much advertising. People just see the tires and stop when they have a puncture or need a fresh set. It’s honest work and it keeps us busy from morning until we pull the shutters down late in the evening. There is always someone needing help with a wheel or a rim around here.
