Our workshop is tucked away in the Hill View Industrial Premises, which is near the Ghatkopar Mohali Gurudwara. It’s a bit of a maze getting back to units 205 and 206 if you don’t know the building well. We’ve been working with silicone products here for quite a while now. It’s a messy business sometimes because the raw materials can be a bit tricky to handle if you aren't careful. The space isn't huge, so we have to be smart about where we stack the finished goods and where we keep the molds. You’ll usually hear the sound of the presses going throughout the day. It’s a small operation, mostly just a handful of us making sure the orders get packed and sent out on time. The air always has a bit of a specific smell to it, which comes from the heating process, but we’ve all stopped noticing it years ago. Sometimes the Gurudwara nearby is quite loud with the prayers, which is actually a nice background to the work we do. We don't have any big corporate offices or anything like that. Everything happens right here in these two rooms, from the initial mixing to the final inspection. It’s simple work, but it requires a lot of attention so that the silicone doesn't have bubbles or weird edges. We just take it one batch at a time and try to stay out of each other's way while the machines are running.
