M. D. Automac

We are tucked away at unit number 10 in the Anjani Kumar Industrial Estate. It is on Nahur Village Road, right in the Subhash Nagar area of Bhandup West. If you know Mumbai, you know how busy these side roads can get. M. D. Automac has been here through the changing seasons, dealing with the heat and the heavy monsoon rains that sometimes flood the street a bit. Our workshop is usually full of mechanical parts and the sound of tools. It is not a quiet place. We work on various automotive and machine components. There is always someone coming in to ask about a part or to see if we can fix something that broke down. We do not have a big marketing team or anything. It is just us and the machines. The space is a bit tight, but every corner has a purpose. You will see grease on our clothes and probably some on the walls too. That is just part of the job. We grab tea from the stall down the road and get back to it. It is a gritty part of town, but it is where the real work happens. We have known the other shop owners in the estate for years. We help each other out when someone needs a tool or an extra hand. It is a simple operation based on knowing the machines inside and out. Just a regular day in Bhandup for the M. D. Automac crew.
