You can find M A Shah & Co over at Jolly Bhavan No 2 in the New Marine Lines area of Churchgate. Our office is split between rooms 202 and 412, which sometimes means a bit of walking up and down the stairs when the elevator is busy with other people. We are located right opposite Nirmala Niketan College, so the street outside is always full of students and a lot of activity throughout the day. It gets quite loud during the morning rush but things settle down a bit once everyone is inside. The office itself is full of old cabinets and stacks of papers that we try to keep organized as best as we can. We usually have the fans going all day to deal with the Mumbai humidity. It’s a very functional space without any unnecessary decorations or complicated setups. We just come in, sit at our desks, and get to work on whatever is on the schedule for that day. Often, we step out for a quick bite at the local stalls nearby or just grab a tea from the person who walks through the building. It’s a straightforward place to work and we have gotten used to the rhythm of this specific neighborhood over the years. Most people know us as just another local office in the building. We don’t try to be anything else. We are just here doing our bit every day in the heart of the city.
