Working out of Kamala Mills in Lower Parel means we are always in the middle of the Mumbai rush. Welspun India Ltd. is up on the 8th floor of the B Wing in Trade World. It’s a lot of elevators and security gates before you even get to our desks. The office is usually a hive of activity, with people running between meetings and staring at spreadsheets. Since we are in the heart of the city’s business district, everything moves fast. We handle a lot of the textile side of things from here, coordinating with the factories and making sure the logistics aren't falling apart. It’s a lot of phone calls and emails all day long. Outside, the traffic on the streets of Lower Parel is a nightmare, but inside we just try to keep things organized. We aren't really a shop where you can walk in and buy a single towel; it's more about the big picture and the heavy-duty planning. The coffee machine is probably the most important piece of equipment we have on this floor. It’s a busy life, and sometimes the days blend into each other. We’ve got a lot of people working here, all trying to keep the wheels turning for the various textile lines we manage. It’s just a regular office job in a very busy part of Mumbai.
