We are based at 217 Vyapar Bhavan on P.D. Mello Road, near number 49. It is a heavy industrial area near the docks, so there is always the sound of trucks and horns in the background. Vyapar Bhavan is a solid building, very functional for our needs. Our space is often filled with the smell of metal and a bit of oil, which is typical for what we do. We have some old desks and a couple of computers that have seen better days. It is not the kind of place where you would find a lounge or a coffee machine. We just have a water cooler and a small stove to make tea. The walls are lined with samples of different locks and hardware parts. We know exactly where everything is, even if it looks like a mess to someone walking in for the first time. The traffic on P.D. Mello Road is legendary, so we usually stay late to avoid the worst of it. It gives us time to catch up on the paperwork without interruptions. We do not spend money on fancy brochures. We just talk to people and get the orders filled. It is honest work and it keeps us busy from morning till night. Most of our staff have been with us for a decade or more. We have seen the neighborhood change, but our little corner of Vyapar Bhavan stays pretty much the same.
