Our office is tucked into Kamla Raman Nagar in Govandi, specifically at H/9/23. If you’ve ever been to this part of Mumbai, you know it’s packed and there is always something happening right outside the door. It’s a lively spot, to say the least. We’ve been operating out of this small space for quite a while now. It’s mostly just a few desks, some filing cabinets, and a lot of muddy boots sitting near the door. Construction work means we’re always dealing with dust, so we don't try to keep the place looking like a fancy showroom. We are usually out early in the morning and back late in the evening. The neighbors know us well, and we’re used to the sounds of the neighborhood. It’s not the kind of place where you’ll find people in suits. We’re more likely to be in jeans and t-shirts, talking about concrete or project schedules. We have to be really organized because space is so tight here. Everything has its place, or we’d never find anything when we’re in a hurry. Sometimes the power goes out, or the water is a bit temperamental, but we just deal with it and move on with the day. It’s a gritty part of town, but it feels like home to us. We’re just a group of people trying to do a solid job on every site we go to, without making a big fuss.
