Light Traders

You can find us at 113 in Lohar Chawl. If you’ve ever been to this part of Mumbai, you know how it is. It’s packed, it’s noisy, and there is always something happening. We’ve been here at Light Traders for a long time. The shop is small, but it’s full of everything we need. Lohar Chawl is one of those old markets where everyone knows everyone else. We spend our days mostly talking to people who walk in and handling various requests. There isn't much space to move around, but we’ve learned how to make the most of it. We don't have a fancy website or a marketing team. It’s just us. We open the shutters in the morning and see what the day brings. Sometimes it’s very busy, and sometimes it’s a bit slow, but that’s just the nature of the market. We don't use any big words to describe what we do. It’s just trading, plain and simple. We like being in the heart of the city like this. You see all sorts of people and hear all sorts of stories. It keeps things from getting boring. The building is old and has a lot of character, much like the rest of the street. We don't plan on moving anytime soon. This place has a history and we’re glad to be a small part of it. It’s not always easy, especially when the rains come, but we just get on with it like everyone else here.
