Leather Touch Industries

Our workshop is at 31 in the Tarun Plastic Industrial Estate. It’s a bit funny being a leather place in an estate named after plastic, but it works for us. Mogra Road in Andheri East is always humming with activity. There’s always a truck blocking the way or someone shouting for a delivery. Leather Touch Industries is a small operation. We have our machines and our stock packed into the space. It’s tight, but we know where everything is kept. The air in here always smells a bit like leather and machine oil. We don't have a marketing team or anyone to write fancy speeches for us. It’s just us making sure the products are made right. Some of the windows don't close all the way, so we get a bit of the outside noise and dust. We’ve been here quite a while now. The neighborhood has changed, but our little corner remains the same. We spend a lot of time checking the stitching and the finish on everything. It’s manual work mostly. When the monsoon hits, we have to be extra careful about the dampness, but we’ve got that figured out over the years. We drink a lot of tea to keep going through the afternoon. It’s a simple life. We aren't trying to change the world; we’re just trying to make good stuff and keep our customers coming back for more. It’s honest work and that is enough for us. We just keep it moving.
