Royal Embroidery

We are based on LBS Road in the Rahman Building. If you go up to the third floor and look for Room 302, that is where we are. It is a workshop filled with the sound of sewing machines humming all day long. We do embroidery work on all sorts of fabrics and clothes. There are spools of thread in every color imaginable stacked up on the walls in old wooden racks. We have been in this building for quite a long time now. It is an old structure, and the stairs are steep and narrow, but it is home for us. We do work for garment shops and sometimes individual orders if someone wants something specific on a dress or a shirt. It is detailed work and can be hard on the eyes, so we have bright lights over every single work station. There are always bits of thread and scrap cloth on the floor, no matter how many times we sweep during the day. We have a couple of guys who are really fast with the needles and some newer machines for the bigger patterns. It is not a quiet place at all. We usually have the radio playing in the background to keep everyone moving. Sometimes a client brings in a design that is too complicated, and we have to sit down and figure out how to simplify it. We are just a group of people who know how to sew.
