Our business is situated in Hanjer Chamber, right in the Jhapa Bazar area on Mumbai Road. The name has my father’s name in it, and we have been operating out of this market for a long time. It is a busy spot where everyone seems to be in a hurry to get their goods loaded and moved. Our office is a bit cluttered with samples, old registers, and half-empty boxes that we haven't found a place for yet. We have a few desks pushed together where we handle all the trading talk. Mumbai Road is always packed with trucks, so the noise of engines and horns is just background music to our daily work. We spend a lot of time waiting for shipments to arrive and then even more time checking that everything is there. It’s a family-run place, so there isn't much formality; we just get on with whatever needs doing. Sometimes the tea boy from the corner brings over snacks, and we sit on the crates to eat. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but we are usually too busy to worry about things like that. We just stay focused on the market prices and making sure our regulars get what they need when they come by the bazar. It’s a lot of talking and a lot of paperwork, but we like being right here in the middle of all the action on the Mumbai Road.
