Our place is at 225 Adhyaru Industrial Estate, which is inside the New Sunmil Compound. This is on Sitaram Jadhav Marg in Lower Parel. Lower Parel has turned into a place with lots of big malls and offices, but our corner still feels like the old industrial Mumbai. We are surrounded by other units that have been here for decades. The office is focused on lighting, so we have various fixtures and parts scattered around. It’s an old building, so the walls have some cracks and the floor isn't perfectly level, but it has character. Getting here from the Lower Parel station is a bit of a walk, especially when it’s raining. We’ve been at this address for a long time and the staff knows the neighborhood well. There’s a small shop nearby where we get our samosas and tea in the afternoon. The work is steady and we have a routine that we follow every day. We don't have a fancy lobby or any marketing banners hanging up. It’s just a place of work. Sitaram Jadhav Marg is always noisy with taxis and bikes, but once you are inside the compound, it gets a little quieter. We like the history of the place and it’s where we feel most at home. It’s a simple, hardworking environment for all of us here.
