Our spot is at C/9 in the Laghu Udyog Kendra on I.B. Patel Road. This part of Goregaon East is basically just one industrial estate after another. It’s a very busy place, and the road outside is always full of tempos and delivery vans. Because our unit isn't very large, we have to be smart about how we stack the boxes. We handle a lot of equipment for labs and hospitals, so there is a lot of bubble wrap and tape involved in our daily routine. It’s a lot of manual work, lifting crates and checking labels to make sure everything is going to the right hospital. The air in the industrial estate always smells a bit like diesel and dust. We don’t have any fancy signs or a big lobby. It’s just a door that leads into a workspace where everyone is busy. Most of us have been working in this area for years, so we know the local tea stall owners and the other business neighbors pretty well. It’s a community of people just trying to get through their to-do lists. We don’t really do any promotion or advertising. People usually find us because they need something specific for a medical lab and they know we are here in Goregaon. Sometimes we have to stay late to finish up the shipping manifests, especially when a big order comes in at the last minute. It’s a bit cramped in the office, but we make it work somehow.
