We operate out of B-7/8 in Bharat Nagar, which is right on Maulana Shaukat Ali Road. The biggest landmark for us is Shalimar Cinema, which is directly opposite our building. If you’re coming by Grant Road, it’s a very busy part of the city. There’s always a lot of traffic and noise from the street, but that’s just life in Mumbai. Our units are part of a larger complex, and we’ve been here long enough that we know most of the other people working in the building. Inside, it’s a bit of a maze of desks and equipment. We have two units joined together to give us a bit more breathing room. It’s not a fancy place, the floors are a bit worn and the walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but it works for us. We spend a lot of time on the phone or dealing with the logistics of our daily tasks. The canteen nearby serves some of the best snacks in the area, which is a nice bonus. Sometimes it gets a bit chaotic with deliveries coming in and out, especially with the narrow entrance on the main road. The smell from the nearby food stalls usually hits us around noon, which makes it hard to focus on the invoices. Our unit is crowded with boxes and we use an old metal fan that rattles quite a bit, but it keeps the air moving.
