Kirloskar Oil Engines Ltd.

We are over at A-3 in the M.I.D.C. area. If you work in an industrial zone, you know the vibe. It’s all metal, concrete, and the sound of heavy machinery. Kirloskar Oil Engines is a name people recognize, but here on the floor, we’re just a bunch of guys in overalls. The air usually smells like oil and metal shavings. We spend our shifts putting things together and making sure the engines actually run like they are supposed to. It’s a big space, but it feels small when you’re right in the middle of it. We have our routines, our tea breaks, and the usual complaints about the heat in the afternoon. A-3 is a large unit, so there is always something moving—forklifts, pallets, or just people rushing to finish a task. We don’t spend time writing fancy letters or marketing slogans. We’re too busy for that. Most of us have been here for years and we know the machines better than we know our own cars. It’s noisy and it can be tiring, but there’s a certain rhythm to it that you get used to. We just do the work, follow the drawings, and try to get everything out of the gate on time. It’s just an honest day’s work in the heart of the industrial estate. Nothing more, nothing less. We just keep the motors running and the floor moving as best as we can.
