Our place is tucked away in the Ujgar Industrial Estate over in Deonar. If you know the Waman Tukaram Patil Marg area, you know it's always crowded with big trucks and people moving things around. It’s a real working part of Mumbai, not like the fancy parts you see on TV. We’ve been operating out of this unit for a good long time. It’s not the quietest spot to work, with all the noise from the other factories nearby, but we’re used to it. Inside, it’s all about the production lines and the packaging. We deal with various drugs and medications. The floors are concrete and the lights are bright because you have to see what you’re doing. Sometimes the traffic on the main road is a nightmare, especially during the monsoon when the rain just pours down on the estate roofs and everything gets messy. We mostly just keep our heads down and get the daily batches finished. Lunch breaks are usually spent at the small tea stalls just outside the gate where you can get a quick snack. It's a plain, functional space. No big glass windows or fancy lobbies here. We’ve got some old machinery and some newer stuff too. The neighborhood has changed a bit over the years with more buildings popping up, but the industrial estate stays pretty much the same—oily, busy, and always moving. We just fit into that rhythm every day.
