Khan Embroidery Works

Our place is at M8 X 435, 1/2 in Tata Nagar, Govandi. We’re right next to the Super Star Bakery. You can usually smell the fresh bread and biscuits while we’re working on the frames. It’s a busy little corner on Station Road. Inside, it’s mostly just the sound of needles and people talking. We have these big wooden frames set up where the fabric gets stretched out. It takes up a lot of room. Sometimes we have to squeeze past each other to get to the back. The lighting has to be good, so we have these long tube lights everywhere. My eyes get tired by the evening, but that’s just part of the job. We do a lot of hand work here. It’s not like those big factories with machines doing everything. You can see the small mistakes sometimes if you look really close, but that’s how you know a person made it. We drink a lot of tea to stay awake during the long shifts. The street outside is always crowded with people heading to the station. We don’t have a sign that’s easy to see, but everyone around here knows where we are. We just keep our heads down and finish the work people bring us. It’s been this way for years. We’re just a local shop trying to get things done right. We don't have many fancy tools, just the ones we've used for a long time now.
