You can find us over at 245 Mumbadavi Road. Keshavlal Dalpatbhai Zaveri & Sons (Jewellers) has been sitting in this spot in Zaveri Bazar for more years than I can really count. We are jewellers, but we don't act like those big fancy mall stores. Our place is a bit old-fashioned. There are tools on the benches and boxes stacked in the back. It’s a bit messy sometimes, to be honest. We’ve got the family name on the sign outside, though the paint is peeling a little at the edges. Being in this part of town means there is always traffic and people shouting outside. We just keep the doors open and do our work. People come in to ask about repairs or to look at what we have in the cases. Sometimes they just want to chat for a bit. We know most of the neighbors around here. It’s a tight squeeze in the shop when more than three people come in at once. We don't have a big staff, just a few of us making sure everything is handled right. It’s a lot of sitting and focusing on small details. My hands are usually a bit stained from the work, but that’s just how it goes. We don't use any fancy computers for everything; we like our paper ledgers. It feels more real that way. Just a local shop doing what we do every single day.
