Kenko Corporation

We are located up on the fifth floor, units 508 and 509, right near Mandvi Pole and Mulund Padi Pole in Manek Chowk. It’s a very old part of the city, so the streets are narrow and always packed with people and carts. Getting up to the fifth floor every day keeps us fit, though the lift works most of the time luckily. Kenko Corporation has been in this spot for years. We do a lot of trading and handling different goods that come through this market. It’s a noisy place to work because of all the shouting and activity down on the street, but you stop noticing it after the first week. We have a few rooms filled with boxes and a small area where we do the accounts and talk to vendors. It gets quite hot in the summers, especially being so high up in the building. We don’t have fancy carpets or expensive furniture. It’s just a place to do business. We know most of the neighbors in the building, and we usually share some snacks in the afternoon. It’s a lot of paperwork and phone calls to suppliers. Sometimes the deliveries are late because the trucks can’t get through the narrow lanes, so we have to be patient. It’s just the way it is in Manek Chowk. We like the energy of the market and being right in the middle of the trade. It keeps us on our toes.
