Kapaleshwar Press

We run Kapaleshwar Press out of Shop Number 8 in Narayan Niwas, which is at 151 Dadiseth Agiary Lane. This is right in the heart of Chira Bazar. It is a very busy street and there is always a lot of shouting and horns honking outside. Our shop isn't very large, but we have squeezed in all the equipment we need to get the printing jobs done. We have been here for years, and the walls are stained with ink in a few places. That’s just how it goes when you’re working with presses all day. We don't have a marketing department or anything like that. People just come in because they saw our sign or a friend told them we do okay work. We try to get things printed as fast as we can, though sometimes the old machines act up and we have to spend an afternoon tinkering with them. It’s a hands-on kind of job. My hands are usually covered in some kind of ink by lunch. We don't try to sound like a big corporate printer. We are just a local press in Chira Bazar. We take the orders, we set the type or the digital files, and we run the paper through. It is simple and it pays the bills. We like being part of the community here in Narayan Niwas and knowing the folks who live upstairs.
