We are based in Hermes House, right in the Opera House area. If you’ve been around this part of town, you know it’s the heart of the diamond trade. Our space at B-3 is where we spend most of our time. It’s a busy place with people coming and going all day. We handle a lot of precious stones and jewelry, which means we have to be quite careful with everything. The lighting in the office is bright because you need to see what you are looking at. It isn’t a massive showroom with velvet everywhere. It is more of a working office where the real trade happens. We’ve been part of this community for a long time. People around here know us and we know them. It feels like a small village sometimes, even though we are in the middle of a huge city. We have a rhythm to the day. The morning starts with checking the inventory and the afternoon is spent meeting with regulars. Sometimes we stay late when a big order needs to be sorted. We don't really do the fancy advertising stuff. Most people find us because they’ve heard about us from someone else. It's just a family-run kind of vibe, even as the business has grown over the years. We take care of the pieces as if they were our own. That’s just the way things are done here at Kantilal Chhotalal. We don't make a big fuss about things, we just do the job right.
