Kanodia Fabrics (International)

If you know Kalbadevi Road, you know it is always moving and very crowded. Our place is tucked away on Dady Seth Agairy Lane at number 47. It is a tight spot, but that is the way this whole area is built. We handle fabrics here at Kanodia Fabrics. It is usually just stacks of material everywhere you look. Some days it feels like the walls are closing in with all the rolls of cloth, but we manage to find what we need eventually. It is mostly just dusty shelves and a lot of counting and measuring. Being in this part of town means there is always noise outside. Carts go by, people are shouting, and there is the general bustle of the market. We have gotten used to it over the years. The lights inside are not the brightest, but they do the job well enough. We spend a lot of time checking orders and making sure the right fabric goes to the right person. Sometimes we get the names mixed up if we are not careful, so we have to double-check everything. It is a lot of manual work and no one wears a suit here. We just wear whatever is comfortable for moving heavy bundles around all day. It is not a glamorous job, but it is what we do. The stairs are a bit steep, so you have to be careful when you are carrying stuff up or down. We just keep at it.
